This week the infamous pop star Cher has been auctioning off some of her personal items and show costumes. And as usual when we hear the word ‘Cher’ at Sailor Fancy Dress UK, we all suddenly start thinking of that infamous ‘Turn Back Time’ video and the mass of men in Sailor Fancy Dress. (Not that we’re suggesting they weren’t real sailors -- but have you ever seen anyone from the Navy that good looking!).

Well, we couldn’t find out this news without a quick reminder of just how good or bad the video really was -- and just what Cher did for the rise in Sailor Fancy Dress interest.

Thankfully this video, and the see through costume in it, are well behind us. But it does show us how just one Sailor Accessory, such as the Doughboy hat that Cher wears, really does set off an outfit.
